The Ghana fashion & design week premier event launched in 2012 with a mission to be an annual event celebrating Ghana’s fashion and creative business industry and aims at educating and developing the Ghanian industry platform to a worldwide audience. The event brings together Ghanian designers both based in Ghana and in Diaspora alongside international designers and this year’s event will incorporate their collections into an outstanding display of Fashion shows and inspirational exhibitions infused with ethically sourced fashion and lifestyle products over three days in.

Forbes Woman Africa & Forbes Life Africa Arrives!

South African Business mogul Dr.Precious Moloi-Motsepe covers the first issue Forbes Woman Africa. It profiles this trailblazer, game changer and pioneer involved in business, the economy of Africa and the world. In line with this, the magazine will also feature the wealthy, powerful and influential women in business whose impact is felt long after they have come and gone.
        The first Forbes Life Africa issue features Sudanese Supermodel Alek Wek on the cover. Alek Wek who fled war to the richest runways of the fashion world. The magazine looks into the nightlife of West and East Africa – we have polo, fashion, pop, models, yachts and wealth. We have human interest too. The Zimbabwean who is trying to make it in Hollywood.The African animators setting the world; gold, flowers and fun.

Designer Biography: Taiwo And Kehinde Of Okunoren Twins

Taiwo and Kehinde; the duo which make up The Okunoren Twins were born in 1983 in Lagos Nigeria, to Kunle and Abiola Okunoren. Their mother, Abiola was a fashion designer and drawing inspiration from her in addition to the demand for English dressing which was prevalent in the 80s, the twins entered the fashion industry at the young age of 19.

to eradicate the problem of ill-fitting badly tailored suits, the boys were inspired to make custom-made suits for their clients who wanted their clothes made to size, making them pioneer makers of bespoke suits for the average Nigerian at a time the Nigerian fashion industry was still at infancy.

Miss Philippines crowned Miss World 2013, Miss Ghana came 3rd

The 2013 Miss World pageant held today Saturday September 28th at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia. Miss Philippines Megan Young (pictured left) beat 126 other contestants to win Miss World 2013. Miss France Marine Lorphelin was named runner-up, while Miss Ghana Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter (pictured right) came third.

BBA winner Dilish gets brand new car as birthday gift from boyfriend

Dillish Pearl Mathews, the winner of the recently concluded Big Brother Africa The Chase celebrated her birthday yesterday and her family and friends came out to celebrate with her. In the mix was her boyfriend Steven (who bought her a brand new car as a birthday gift, pictured right), mum, siblings and her father, who she said on BBA she'd never met before.
